The Gate activity Inspection and Tracking/Damaged Eqipment Notification and Tracking (GAIT/DENT) system allows on-site personnel to record gate inspection information immediately as the units arrive. GAIT/DENT combines the power of OASIS's work order, reporting, and inventory mechanisms with ingate and outgate processing, equipment inspection, and damaged equipment handling at intermodal terminals. GAIT/DENT works in conjunction with the OASIS interface to retrieve and display stored data. Gate operators can access this information in real-time, thus improving throughput.
Mobile, Real-Time Input
With GAIT/DENT, you can use a hand held terminal to input and retrieve crucial container, chassis, and trailer information. Unlike “fixed position” systems, GAIT/DENT is not limited by the characteristics of the physical plant. Gate operators can move up and down a line of trucks, trailers, and containers inputting gate and damage information into radio-frequency hand held terminals as they go. This flexibility of movement allows personnel to process higher traffic volumes without the need for additional personnel or expensive infrastructure investment. The flexible interface gives gate operators the ability to meet cyclical traffic flows and respond to situations at the gate as they arise.
Repair Tracking
The system tracks the repair process itself, maintaining data on repair parts, costs, and labor. GAIT/DENT gives you accurate, up-to-the-minute information at every stage of the inspection and repair process. Your personnel become active participants in the entire repair process, and managers are able to track damage from initial reporting, to estimation, to authorization of repairs.
