Plan Management Program

Plan Maintenance and Storage without the Hassle

The RailDOCS Plan Management Program (PMP) is custom designed to meet the unique challenges of plan storage, access, and reproduction for railroad fixed infrastructures. PMP controls and manages your plans so that they are available in the form you need, immediately, without reproduction or shipping cost. With PMP, you control the access to your plans - for your employees, partners, and vendors.

When you need to view a plan, PMP will automatically convert the current version (whether Microstation, AutoCAD, or scanned drawings) to a .pdf file. This means any authorized viewer can see the information without the need for expensive CAD software for viewing, plotting, or printing. The CAD-to-PDF functionality is especially beneficial in trouble shooting assistance and disaster recovery.

RailDOCS PMP is tightly integrated with other RailDOCS systems, including RailDOCS T&I, RailDOCS CMS, and RailDOCS Project Management. That tight integration means that plans are just a click away for users working in other RailDOCS systems.

Document Management and Logistics
Optionally, RMI also provides the physical storage of railroad plans and drawings through its Document Management and Logistics service. You can check current copies of plans in and out easily to meet your user demands, all the while knowing that the plans remain safe and secure in our facility.

The Document Management and Logistics service includes change management. When changes occur in an asset, planned or unplanned, we will make and track these modifications across all initiatives supported by the drawings. This includes project-related changes, as well as changes required for maintenance activities.

We currently manage the in-process and in-service fixed infrastructure plans for one of North America's largest Class I railroads.  Since 1998, RMI has housed the paper versions of millions of drawings at our facility in Jacksonville, Florida, with the electronic versions in RailDOCS's PMP.
