RailAmerica Selects RMI

RailConnect® TMS System will be implemented at all 40 of RailAmerica's North American railroads.

In addition to RMI’s TMS solution, RailAmerica plans to use RMI’s mCrew product for remote train-crew reporting, as well as ShipperConnect® to provide better service and support to its customers, improve the operational efficiencies of its railroads, and seamlessly integrate with RA’s accounting system.

“Our Horizon Project is focused entirely on improving the customer experience,” said RA Vice President Planning Mike Oakley. “The entire business case for this initiative was based on the premise that better service enhances the bottom line, and RMI is a major enabler of achieving that goal.”

Pete Kleifgen, RMI Chairman and CEO, said “RailAmerica is a valued partner of RMI and we are extremely pleased to be collaborating with the entire RA team on this ambitious project. We are confident that RailAmerica will achieve and exceed their expectations, and we look forward to continuing our aggressive implementation process across the entire family of RailAmerica railroads.”

David Novak, RailAmerica senior vice president and chief administrative officer, said, “We feel confident in RMI’s ability to migrate successfully all of our properties to what we believe is the most advanced transportation operating system in the industry for regional, terminal, and short line railroads. RMI brings a level of experience and professionalism to the project that will ensure its success.”
